Makam Aer Mata Ratu IBU

Makam Aer Mata merupakan komplek makam raja yang berada di utara kabupaten Bangkalan. Makam ini merupakan makam raja-raja yang memerintah jauh sebelum Indonesia membentuk negara kesatuan.

Komplek situs sejarah yang terletak sekitar 30 Km dari arah kota, atau kurang lebih 30 menit perjalanan darat tersebut menyimpan banyak fakta dan cerita sejarah, termasuk peninggalan berupa makam Islam kuno, yang disertai dengan arsitektur budaya Hindu-Budha yang telah ada dan berkembang sebelumnya.

Aer Mata, dalam bahasa Madura berarti Air Mata. pemakaman ini berasal dari kisah Pangeran Cakraningrat I (Raden Praseno), yang memerintah Pulau Madura dalam kurun waktu sekitar tahun 1624-1648. Saat menjalani masa pemerintahan tersebut, Cakraningrat I mempunyai seorang permaisuri yang konon sangat cantik jelita, dengan nama Syarifah Ambami yang dikemudian hari dikenal dengan sebutan Ratu Ibu.

Saat sang pangeran menjalani masa pertapaan, Ratu Ibu terlihat bersedih dan terus menerus menangis. Bahkan, dalam cerita dari warga sekitar, air mata yang keluar sampai membanjiri tempat pertapaan beliau. Itu terjadi hingga beliau wafat dan dikebumikan di tempat pertapaannya.

Sampai sekarang tempat pertapaan tersebut, menjadi situs bersejarah yang oleh warga sekitar dinamakan Makam Aer Mata Ratu Ibu, terletak di Desa Buduran, Kecamatan Arosbaya, Bangkalan.
